SPEAKER APPLAUDS STAFF FOR THE MILESTONE IN THE ASSEMBLY.

County Assembly of Kakamega Speaker, the Rt. Hon. James Namatsi has applauded the staff for their commitment and teamwork in realizing good progress in the year 2024.
While addressing and acknowledging members of staff on Thursday during the ongoing team-building and bonding workshop in Kisumu, Hon. Namatsi underscored an array of achievements under his tenure as he remained committed and upbeat about the Assembly’s future.

“We began with a very divided staff………..but am very happy that we are now a one team working towards same goal as we remain optimistic,” noted the Speaker. Hon. Namatsi pointed out capacity building for both staff and Members of County Assembly (MCAs) both locally and abroad, amicable conflict resolutions, timely salaries and study leaves for staff are some of the many achievements realized by the County Assembly Service Board (CASB).

The Speaker who is also the chairperson to CASB further pledged to engage the Kenya School of Government (KSG) for more trainings as a way of adding knowledge and sharpening skills among the staff. In the same breath, Assembly staff were encouraged to utilize the little resources and time available in advancing their studies. With regards to the latest developments in County Assemblies’ Recurrent Budgets deductions by the Senate, the Assembly boss admitted that drastic budget cuts had considerable impact on effective execution of County Assemblies as noted by the County Assemblies Forum (CAF) and urged the staff to brave for difficult times ahead. “Our budget was slashed by Kshs. 204 Million……,” decried the Speaker, “and this has led to a constraint on the little resources available and this will consequently affect our service delivery,” he added.
