Majority Chief Whip

HON. GLADYS OMUKONGOLO MALENYA (MCA – IDAKHO NORTH)

Hon. Omukongolo is among the three elected female Members of County Assembly (MCAs) and holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM) and a Certificate in Management from Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). She went to Khwisero Secondary School.

Hon. Omukongolo has worked before as the chairperson for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Women League in Ikolomani Sub-County, vice-chairperson and chairperson at St. Teresa’s Youth Polytechnic. She joined the County Assembly of Kakamega as nominated member in 2013. Later, she was elected in 2017 and 2022 as the representing Idaho North Ward.

Deputy Majority Chief Whip

HON. SEBASTIAN JUMA MANG’ENI (MCA – Bunyala West)

Hon. Mang’eni went to Manor House High School and has a Diploma in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management. He has worked with a number of organizations among them; Safaricom as a Marketing person (2013 to date), a Researcher at the Kenya National Bureau Statistics (2013) and as a Mobilizer at the Winrock International in collaboration with USAID Kenya. He was elected to represent the people of Bunyala West ward in 2022.
